Feasibility Study for LAH Contemporary Museum
2021 · Client: ARTARHIV d.o.o. · museum analysis within a joint feasibility study with PKF hotelexperts
THE QUESTION
On the shores of Lake Bled, just beneath the castle, a private founder was building something Slovenia didn't yet have: a museum of contemporary art with a sculpture park, designed by David Chipperfield Architects, supported by accommodation and event facilities. Could it work — and what would make it thrive?
WHAT WE DID
Within the feasibility study for the mixed-use development — prepared jointly with PKF hotelexperts, who covered the hotel market and financial forecast — we delivered the museum analysis: a market analysis of Slovenia's museum landscape and visitor economy, best-practice research spanning Slovenian institutions and international pioneers from around the world, and an assessment of the museum's opportunities, audiences, and collaboration potential in the region.
WHAT THEY WALKED AWAY WITH
A clear positioning for LAH Contemporary as the first museum of its kind in Upper Carniola, its unique selling points defined, and concrete recommendations — from joint ticketing with Bled Castle to online ticketing and community programming — to anchor the museum in its place and its audiences.
