From Museum Shop to Visitor Journey Highlight — DomQuartier Salzburg
2026 · DomQuartier Salzburg
THE QUESTION
DomQuartier Salzburg came to us wanting to design a new layout for their museum shop. Together, we quickly arrived at a bigger question: how does a "museum shop" become a highlight of the visitor journey?
WHAT WE DID
Before any floor plan, we worked with the team to rethink the fundamentals — what story the store should tell, who its audiences really are, and which products make sense for them. Rather than stopping at best practices from other institutions, we developed concepts and mock-ups for something that didn't exist yet.
WHAT THEY WALKED AWAY WITH
A clear retail story, audience profile, and product logic — the strategic brief their architects then used to design the new layout.
