THE QUESTION
Vienna wanted to launch its first grant programme dedicated to museums — but what do the city's museums actually need?
WHAT WE DID
We collected and analysed data on 126 Viennese museums, surveyed them on technology use and organisational maturity, conducted in-depth interviews with museum staff, and ran a mapping workshop to turn insights into recommendations.

The evidence base that directly shaped Vienna's first museum grant — a data-driven model that continues to inform the city's cultural funding and the museums' own strategic development.
