Sustainability in museums

Summary · 2025 · English · Roundtable, Centre Pompidou, 26 February 2025

Intro

On 26 February 2025, MUSEUM BOOSTER and the Angelina Usanova Foundation hosted a roundtable on sustainability at Centre Pompidou, bringing together thirty-five museum leaders and sustainability experts from across Europe.

Rob Hopkins opened with a keynote on imagination as infrastructure for change, arguing that museums are unusually well placed to let people step into possible futures rather than only learn about the past. Serlachius Museums and Centre Pompidou each presented their own approaches, and the day closed with a session of speculative scenarios.
