Reimagining the value of museums
Summary · 2023 · English · Museum Leadership House, Nice, 16–17 September 2023
Intro
In September 2023, twenty-five museum leaders from eleven countries gathered in Nice alongside experts from politics and technology. Working from the World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report 2023, the group looked for practical actions available today rather than long-horizon strategy.
The two days opened with a provocation from John Falk on articulating museum value through wellbeing, and closed with Rob Hopkins of the Transition Network on imagination as a driver of change. Between them, a modified Delphi method surfaced where the group agreed, and where it did not.
