Breaking the digital ceiling

Report · 2023 · English · DOORS, EU Horizon 2020

Intro

Discussions about the sector's digital transformation had been running for some time, with relatively little attention to how it looks in a smaller institution. DOORS focused on local and regional museums, museums outside urban centres, and museums sustained by a handful of volunteers.

This report is the roadmap of the two-stage incubation programme that followed: forty museums in the first stage, twenty in the second. It sets out the reasoning behind each design decision, and then hands the microphone to the museum teams themselves for what they wish they had known at the start.
